I’m Laurel (she/her), and I’m glad you found your way here! I believe in joy! Anything that brings overflowing joy - you will find me in that space. I am a native of Ohio but have called many places home and lean into those experiences as I navigate this life. I love hard, enjoy dance parties in my kitchen with my 3 kiddos and husband, and love giraffes fiercely!
I am a multidimensional storyteller, rooted in honesty and transparency. Respect for the life you led before our paths crossed, the present moments we will share that ultimately shape the intricacies of your moments and memories to come.
In 2019, I tapped back into my memories from a college photography course and documented my first birth — a birth that left such a deep impact on my heart. I return to these images frequently as a reminder of what I am hoping to gather each time I use my camera as a vessel of storytelling.
When I am standing behind the lens, my hope is that your experience feels like a return home to yourself. Allowing your fullest self to seep through every part of your being. The images I capture are a reflection of seeing yourself in truth. You - the magic you are!
I often express to people that I am obsessed with all things birth. While those sentiments are true, I have found that what I'm truly in love with from the experience of birth are the stories that are unveiled.
As your doula I strive to provide care that meets your family’s unique and individualized needs. As no two people’s life story is the same, I believe that is the case for pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journeys for each birthing family. I will use the individual connection I have developed with your family to help you create a story that facilitates growth and joy through this journey. Your birth. Your voice. Your vision.
At this time, I am only providing doula services that are embedded with my photography support. This offering is limited to 4 births a year.
