I often express to people that I am obsessed with all things birth. While those sentiments are true, I have found that what I’m truly in love with from the experience of birth are the stories that are unveiled.

Families expanding, babies crossing over to meet their families earthside, ancestors whispering secrets of wisdom to birthing parents as they travel outside themselves, partners and support watching in awe. The stories, no matter what that day brings forth, are a tethered connection.

Delicate connection wihtin black families. A yearning to sit deep in the stories of our community before they became unrecognizable.

Birth stories are the way I find I’m able to tether back. When families can sit in the power of their birth it not only builds a strong foundation for them it heals our community - the most sacred return home.
